City Bhaskar: bringing AI to radiation monitoring at BARC
For Startup Day, the paper featured our work making radiation monitoring at BARC continuous, digital and AI-assisted.
On National Startup Day, City Bhaskar featured Krypton AI’s work with the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) in Mumbai.
For years, radiation readings at BARC had been taken by hand. Through a project with BARC, we built an AI system that monitors radiation meters around the clock and analyses the data in real time, so changes are caught as they happen rather than at the next manual round.
Using computer vision, we also turned the analogue meters on BARC’s machines into digital readings without replacing them, and built a smart metering system alongside. It is a clear example of what we believe: existing infrastructure made intelligent, not obsolete.
